These glass slides were used in a vintage lantern which used a gas lamp and later electricity to project the image onto a wall or screen. These predated motion pictures. A really interesting but of history, these two slides depict an open pit mine with a steam shovel lifting ore in Hibbing, Minnesota and a man planting trout in a Pennsylvania stream. These do not have significant scratching or fading and are in excellent shape.
